Wendell Washington is a founding partner of Valdez Washington LLP and currently manages the firm’s Frisco, Texas office.

Mr. Washington’s practice focuses on labor and employment law and general commercial litigation. Specifically, he represents clients in all facets of litigation from pre-lawsuit negotiations through trial and post-verdict disputes. Additionally, to assist clients in avoiding the stress and expense of unnecessary litigation, Mr. Washington routinely advises and counsels clients on litigation avoidance and compliance issues. Mr. Washington has represented and counseled a broad spectrum of clients including local and national corporations and individuals.

Mr. Washington has litigated on behalf of and against large and small clients in all manner of disputes. He has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants and prides himself on providing the same high-quality legal work clients would receive from large, multi-national law firms while giving his clients the one-on-one attention that they deserve.

Prior to the formation of Valdez Washington, Mr. Washington practiced with the international firms of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP and Hunton & Williams, LLP, as well as one of the leading national labor and employment law firms Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak, & Stewart, P.C.

With the help of an academic scholarship Mr. Washington attended Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law where he was a member of the Computer Law Review and Technology Journal and graduated in the top 25% of his class. Further, during his time in law school, Mr. Washington served as the secretary and president of his local Black Law Students’ Association chapter and the Deputy Director of the Rocky Mountain Region Black Law Students’ Association. In these capacities, Mr. Washington represented both SMU and the Rocky Mountain Region at National Black Law Students’ Association conventions.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Washington attended Southern Methodist University on a full football scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Departmental Distinction in English and received several prominent awards including the Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Award and Western Athletic Conference Academic All Conference.
